Why do people make “replicas” that look nothing like the car they’re a “replica” of?

“ Just in case you forgot what the abortion you’re driving in is, I helpfully put it on the inside of both doors too, using a font I designed using only strips of masking tape!”

That’s what I don’t understand. I totally get the idea of building your own car and the work that goes into it. But people try to copy a design and don’t even come close. And even worse they put paint and badges on it to fool the stupid!
Edit: just looked at the price, Dear god no!

Because they want to masturbate like they're rich, without spending like they're rich.

Hey now, north Burnaby is way better than central or south Burnaby. That said, the good part keeps shrinking farther north....

For the same reason they put “Turbo” “AMG” “M” or “V8" badges on cars. The people they are trying to impress don’t know any better.
It’s weird
, because the people that would really be impressed are the ones that know better.

If he avoided the Ford badges, the iconic stripes, and all of the “GT-40" badging, it probably would never be mistaken for a GT-40 replica.
That’s the worst thing about it, it missed the mark so bad that it relie
s on the paint and badges to try and prove that it’s a replica.

Not that I know of. I’m morbidly curious where the frame and drivetrain for this thing came from, and why

That Cadillac engine is a popular swap because it fits the
